Lake District Visitor Gallery » John Paterson

John Paterson

This gallery features the Lake District photos of John Paterson and his climb up Jack’s Rake on Pavey Ark, part of The Langdale Pikes. John was the first contributor to Snap the Lakes. He was a keen rock climber in his teens and 20’s, and enjoyed several seasons climbing in the Alps, in the Zermatt, Chamonix and Grindlewald regions.

In 1998 he spent 2 weeks in the Taurus Mountains of Turkey, John recalls “it was wonderful walking country, a must for nature lovers – tortoises in the valleys and wild flowers everywhere”.
