On her first visit to the Lakes Pam bought a copy of one of Wainwright's Pictorial Guides- "I found his drawings and unique way of writing so fascinating that I soon bought the whole set".  Pam and her family loved the Lake District so much that they camped there every summer having many wonderful family holidays. "Mike and I go on our own now and like to go at different times of the year. We go 3 times a year and always stay in Borrowdale as that is our favourite valley".

"Every season is so different, the fells are always changing their colours. There is beauty everywhere so it is not difficult to take good photos". Pam uses an Olympus 4040z digital camera she's had it over a year now, and as you can see she has taken some excellent photographs with it.

Pam is not a Wainwright bagger but she does like to discover new places to walk in the fells"I always take the relevant Pictorial Guide with me when fellwalking as they are full of useful information".  Pam has walked in the Scottish Highlands but feels they are so vast. She prefers the Lake District because it is more compact and so much is crammed into a relatively small area. When Pam and Mike retire in a few years time they hope to live in the Lake District.
