Pavey Ark from Stickle Tarn John was a keen rock climber in his teens and 20's he had several seasons climbing in the Alps in the Zermatt, Chamonix and Grindlewald regions. He no longer climbs, but still ski's every year and loves walking the Lake District - especially in winter conditions. |

The start of Jack's Rake In 1998 he spent 2 weeks in the Taurus Mountains of Turkey - 'wonderful walking and a must for nature lovers - tortoises in the valleys and wild flowers everywhere'. |

Groove above Gwynnes Gulley John took the photographs with a Fuji 2.3 megapixel 2700, he say's 'it had no optical zoom and has now been replaced with a 5 megapixel Cannon G5'. |
